It's getting a little chilly outside so we thought we'd share our favourite cocktail recipe for making a hot gin toddy at home, perfect for a cold Winter's evening.
Hot Gin Toddy Ingredients
- 35ml Pickering's Original 1947 Gin
- 125ml of cloudy apple juice
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- The juice of half a lemon (or 25ml)
- Cloves, star anise and cinnamon
Gentle heat up the apple juice in a pan with the honey, lemon juice and spices. Just before you remove the pan from the heat add the Pickering's 1947 Gin, serve in your favourite winter mug and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Yummy!
We used Pickering's 1947 Original Gin because it's made precisely to Pickering’s original recipe, as it was written down in Mount Mary, Bombay, in 1947. The botanical mix includes cinnamon, which adds a decidedly warming and spicy kick to the spirit.
Tasting notes: Spicy, sweet and intense, it’s a decadent trip back to the last days of the Raj. Cardamom, coriander, clove and cinnamon spice lead to a crisp, refreshing and long finish.
Serving suggestions: with ice, quality tonic and a wedge of lime. For a more warming drink, substitute tonic water for ginger ale or try the toddy recipe above!
