Gilding is super easy to apply and gives a luxurious glimmer to walls and furniture. We have two types, loose and transfer. Transfer is great for gilding large surfaces such as walls or large pieces of furniture it is very lightly adhered to a tissue making it possible to pick up and apply the leaf easily with the tissue uppermost. Loose leaf is particularly good for carved surfaces such as intricate mirror frames
We offer leaf metal in Brass, Aluminium and Copper. Use the leaf with hands lightly dusted with talcum powder and stick the leaf on to a surface coated with Annie Sloan Gold Size.
Brass leaf is also known as 'Imitation Gold' or sometimes referred to as 'Dutch Gold'. Brass tarnishes so apply a layer of Clear Chalk Paint® Wax over your gilded surface when done.
Aluminium leaf is also known as 'Imitation Silver'. To make it look like vintage silver, apply a light coat of Dark Chalk Paint® Wax when done.
Our transfer leaf metal is available in books of 20 sheets. Each sheet is 5 inches x 5 inches.
